1. PLAN YOUR DAY
Prioritize your day. Have a to do list of what you need to get done by the end of the day even if you plan on staying in all day. Planning your day will help you stay productive and organized. Ticking off items in your to do list will make you feel accomplished and organized. It’s time to make use of a diary.
2. DO-IT-NOW MENTALITY
Adopt a do-it-now mentality and avoid procrastination. Instead of pushing back an assignment or task for later, you would rather start doing it right away. This will give you more time to do a task properly without rush. If it’s quick do it straight away.
3. HAVE A CLEAN WORK SPACE
Have a clean, calm and organized work space. When your work space is disorganized your mind is disorganized and you will be way less productive. Ensure your work desk and office is clutter free and organized. Learn how to adopt tidy habits to improve your life.
4. REMOVE DISTRACTIONS
When you are trying to get things done, put away anything that could be a distraction. It could be your phone or online gossip notifications. Keep away anything that could be a distraction to your work or prioritization. This way you’ll get a lot more done because you are focused.
5. DEFINE YOUR PRODUCTIVE GOALS
Give yourself big goals you’d like to achieve by a certain time. Three month goals, six month goals even one year goals. Have a timeline and deconstruct your goals, planning how to achieve them and when to achieve them.
6. FIND OUT WHERE YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME
You need to find out where you are using most of your time unnecessarily. It could be the hours you spend sitting in front of your computer or television, or getting ready. Setting a timer for yourself really helps keep you in check with your time.
You then you need to figure out how to save time. This could be deciding what to wear the night before, or preparing your meals to last you a few days instead of cooking individual meals.
7. GET A HOBBY
It is important to find something you like to do in your spare time. It could be sports, travelling, art, music, reading or collecting artifacts. Having a hobby makes you enjoy your life and prevent you from burning out doing one activity.
8. EXERCISE AND TAKE A BREAK
It goes without saying, a healthy body equals a healthy mind. Try and move your body daily and go outside. You could take a walk, go to the gym, go for a run, swimming, or bike rides. Exercise is a great stress reliever and should be part of your daily routine.
It’s very important to know when to relax. A work break will help the mind reset and refocus on what needs to be done.
